Want to make some savings but don’t see it happening? Well, you are not the only one, most people that you see around you experience similar financial issues and the reason why I say it is because I had been facing the same problem since the time I started working.
I know it is quite upsetting to see no savings after having slogged for years or months in my case. And when it starts to get frustrating, you start cribbing about your job and salary. Let me ask you a question; is it your job and salary or your extravagant life that keeps you from making some savings?
The Importance of Planning a Personal Budget
Honestly analyze your situation and you will discover that it’s not your income but your poorly managed finances that does not allow you to save. Of course, there can be other reasons as well but it is usually the case. But whatever the case may be, if you plan your budget realistically you are most likely to see a significant cut down in your expenditures.
Planning a proper budget is the key to make money. Be it big organizations or working individuals, both need to have a budget that they need to follow in order to see their money grow. Once you have worked on a proper financial plan, you know you are well on your way to make some significant savings and see your money growing in your bank account.
Budgeting Steps That Save You Money
Have you ever realized that in a day we do a lot of impulsive expenditures? These impulsive expenditures or unnecessary spending can be avoided. But for that, you need to know where your money goes. In order to do that and then make a personal budget you need to keep a track of the followings:
1. Keep a check on your expenditures: this is the most inexpensive way to cut down your expenditure. Use a notebook and keep marking your spending or list them on MS Excel sheet and then analyze your expenditures, figure out where can you cut down and work on them accordingly.
2. Figure out your necessary expenditures: before you start spending your money, make a budget where you need to make sure that all your necessities are taken care of and how much money you are left with. From the left over money you again need to find out how much you need to save and with the rest you can enjoy.
3. Recurring expenditures: these are the expenditures that you need to make every month like various insurance payments, childcare, school launches, garbage services, movies, dinners, etc. these expenditures are a must and can’t be reduced. So calculate them and find out how much you need to spend approximately.
4. Variable expenses: these expenditures are not on a monthly basis like Christmas, birthdays, father’s day, mother’s day, etc.
5. Loans: education loans, credit card debts etc.
Now in order to make a personal budget, all your expenditures need to be on a monthly basis. When you add up all your expenditures and then divide them by 12, what you get is what your average monthly expenditure is supposed to be.
My Personal Budgeting Experience
When I was going crazy with my expenditures and I didn’t know what to do, my friend told me to follow what I just discussed in the preceding paragraphs and believe me, I was pleasantly surprised to see the outcome. I still have the same job with the same salary yet it feels a lot different.
Today I have savings and fortunately, enough do not have to go through those annoying financial crunches at the end of the month, which makes me a much more confident and an independent individual.
We can all learn a lot from the World’s largest employer on how to run a business. Wal-Mart seems to get the program and understand all aspects of their business; from distribution to customer service. Speaking of customer service, Wal-Mart does an excellent job in customer service, they really do.
If you need to return something they have a great return policy. If you need help in their store they have a podium set up in the middle of the main isle behind the cashier area. For those that argue the Wal-Mart does not have good customer service I beg to differ.
In fact, if you do not believe me why not try out their customer service yourself. If there is an item you cannot find asked a clerk. If you have a question about Wal-Mart go to the podium in the middle of the store and ask them a question. They will stop what they’re doing an answer your question directly.
But don’t take my word for it; go try it. I did and I have done this at hundreds of Wal-Mart stores around the country and I always get the exact same thing; great customer service, individual attention and all my questions are answered.
Better yet all the questions are answered exactly in the same polite manner no matter where I am or what state it is. Like I said we can learn a lot from Wal-Mart in how better to run our own individual businesses. Wal-Mart has great customer service; check it out sometime. You might learn something.
Starting a membership website is an easy way to make a large income online. Marketed correctly, the right membership website can earn you a six-figure income. However, even without marketing, membership websites are turnkey and can generate a lot of income naturally.
To be specific, membership websites are, simply, websites where a user pays to have access. Many membership sites are directory sites, which is the type that I will be referring to. In a directory site, a user pays to have access to a large directory of something, usually businesses. You have probably seen websites that ask you to pay in exchange for a list of survey sites that pay a large amount per survey. That’s the thing about membership sites; there is great appeal in joining one because you get access to an exclusive list of businesses that will allow you to do more than if you found a business for free.
Besides making money off users who want access to your directory, you can get paid from businesses who want to be in your directory. Many businesses pay to be in directories because it is great exposure. These businesses would be in addition to your original list. For new businesses to approach you, your directory has to be moderately successful; that is, do not expect to start getting offers in your first month.
Almost all directories, at least the successful ones, focus on a certain niche. The survey directories mentioned earlier fall under the “make money online” niche. While a broad niche will allow you to attract a great amount of members, a more specific niche will make getting members easier. Directories do not just need to be for products and services online. A membership directory can have the names of good dentists in one city; while this is very specific, it would attract a lot of people from that area.
The great thing about this type of business is the everlasting income. Even after you stop working on the business, as long as you have members, you will continue to make money. Also, because the niche is so heavily focused, you have little competition and marketing is easy. The only potentially difficult or expensive part would be starting the business, as purchasing a list of businesses to include could potentially cost a lot. Unless you can find a cheap list, be sure that you are determined and patient enough to stick with your directory, as like any business, getting it off the ground can be hard. However, you may get lucky and succeed with very little work at all, but be prepared (just in case) to have to work hard.
